I'm a wife and mother to three young children. I'm an adventurer, move-your-body enthusiast, and have a passion for people.
In my work as an executive life coach, it is my joy to help leaders live into their power and potential by stepping into places that require courage and boldness, resulting in transformed lives, families, work and communities. I coach individuals in both professional and personal capacities and have a passion for people and helping them thrive in their life, mission and work.
Most recently I served in executive leadership for a global non-profit in Washington, D.C. and have experience leading and managing high-impact teams. I've also struggled as a leader with imposter syndrome, self-doubt, and wondering if anyone else can see my inadequacies. Forgetting my values, what makes me tick, and what makes me a great leader drug me into a place of insecurity. Coaching helped me reclaim my mission and confidence. I want to help others get there, too.
Coaching utilizes my skills and strengths to partner with leaders so they can confidently step into their next big role.
Methodology
Katy Akester Coaching is a positive, holistic and client-led approach based on intuitive listening and empowering questions. Through coaching skills and proven processes clients have the opportunity to gain self-awareness, break through barriers, create action plans and accountability, and ultimately unlock their potential as a leader.
Coaching plays a different role than a consultant, mentor/role model or therapist. Coaching is a partnership where a design plan is based on the client's agenda and ultimately leads to living into their full potential.

Coaching Certifications
I studied and received my coaching certificate through the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC). I am also certified through the International Coaching Federation, providing a high standard and accountability for coaching.
